Assorted comics of obsession, alienation, isolation, depression, misanthropy, and gephyrophobia! A nameless individual struggles against his own depressive weak will, a headless body and a wide-eyed little boy breifly explore the temptation of companionship, a homely loner recieves a call from an old friend, and more! Life reflections are made, and bridges are burned.

To fund my life as a starving artist, and to be somewhat less starving, I work a modest dayjob preparing and selling sandwiches.
On a recent, particularly slow day, my pal and coworker Wayne and I were both bored out of our minds. And so, Wayne drew this lovely little comic starring me. I do think it’s pretty great.

Hello, fine folks, and welcome to my website and first entry of my blog, where I will be providing news and info regarding my projects.
A little bit of this-n-that about little old me:
Back in January of 2008, I self-published a minicomic called Drawing Blanks. It was that same year that my artwork was featured along with the work of my classmates for the JP McCaskey Senior Art Portfolio show, held on First Friday of May at BUiLDiNG CHARACTER in downtown Lancaster, PA. In 2009, a couple pieces of mine were featured in shows for The Creative House of Lancaster. I am currently working on a new comic book issue, which will see release in September of 2010.

While not a professional illustrator or designer, I keep an eager open mind to commission work. Should you be interested in having me illustrate something, just shoot me an email (dnmcewen@gmail.com) and we can talk.
For the simple sake of experimentation and creation, I have been making music and sound collages under the alias of Doctor Dan. Music has always been a true love of mine, and I adore sound. Creating sounds of my own and putting them together is greatly fulfuilling on a very simple, pure level for me. My audio work is up for listening and free downloading here.
A great lover of cinema, I harbor ambitions to makes films. This ambition has not yet been fully realized, but I have some ideas, and hopefully I’ll have some updates on that front in the future.
